Preparation
We always laugh at the statement that Camden's soccer coach made to us one time... "There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad choice in clothing." Nothing will stop the German's weather-wise, and as a result we find ourselves being a little bit better prepared. The Fall here has been beautiful, but now the temperatures have dropped and we are beginning to nestle in for the winter. The funny thing is though, nobody "nestles in" - life continues on as if it were 80 degrees and sunny outside. Bikers continue to bike (including my entire family, much to the dismay of my older 2 kids :-), runners, walkers, babies in strollers etc. continue on their merry way each day - even in freezing (30 degree) temperatures. As I was riding home from dinner on my bike last night in the freezing cold, with a pitch black sky, I was not alone. Other people were out and about - and to me there is something so fun about bundling up, and continuing on with life in the Winter. Yes, it does take preparation, and the layers of clothing, hats, scarfs, mittens, jackets, boots do tend to wear you down come Spring, but the Christmas Markets are just around the corner, and feeling of Winter is here. Like Camden's coach says, "There is no such thing as bad weather - only bad choice in clothing :-) Life certainly should not stop in the Winter!
