Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

While it is always a little wierd celebrating Thanksgiving here in Germany, it is none the less a treasured Holiday for me. My kids were off to school as usual this morning, but luckily will be home by lunchtime. Bryan joined me for my German class, where my teacher was so kind and we enjoyed an international conversation about traditions (particularly Thanksgiving and Christmas). It is neat to know that no matter where you live in the world, people have Holidays to celebrate life, and also take time out to appreciate it. It is the calm before the storm, and we intend to spend the afternoon cooking (everyone has their "specialties" that they can contibute). Mia has made the place tags for the table (a tradition that has been held out for the youngest child in our family). We have an American family coming over to celebrate with, and we are baking an extra turkey for my German neighbors to enjoy as well. We are so Thankful for family, friends, health, and opportunities. Life is Good! We wish you all a Heartfelt Thanksgiving, and much joy and Happiness that comes your way this Holiday Season!

It sounds like you will be enjoying a wonderful Thanksgiving in your "home away from home." Enjoy! I think that is wonderful that you made a turkey for the neighbor too!
