It never amazes me...

So..... Mia's Kindergarten went to the Forest for a field trip! Let me back up... they went on a "Four consecutive travel days in a row" field trip to the forest - City busses to get there, only teachers (no extra chaperones). The second day, we woke up and it was raining. I packed Mia's "special rucksack (backback)" just in case, but surely you would not take little kids to the forest by city bus for a whole day in the rain. - WHY NOT!!!! The kids were thrilled - of course they are not going to melt, and why wouldn't you adventure out a little, experiencing the environment (both great weather and bad). They all have rain gear at the school, so Why Not! I have learned sooo much from observing a different culture - sometimes if you step back a little bit, you realize that just because it is not the way we might do things, it doesn't necesarily make it a bad thing (Most of the time, it is a GREAT thing)! Mia LOVED her days in the Forest and came home with tales of looking for little bugs (a few bug bites too :-), hunting for deer antlers and animals, listening to the sounds, singing songs, playing games etc. I feel so blessed that she gets to experience all of this - just a little jealous that the rest of us don't get to go to school with her :-) !
