On Friday we traveled to Prague. Let me back up by saying, we already had our non refundable Hotel reservations, so we traveled through a snow storm to the Czech Republik. Our Mini Van persevered and got us there without any problems. Just like growing up in Maine, if you let a little snow get to you - you will end up hibernating for the winter. It is amazing to me how close we are to everything over here. In 2 hours we were in the former Communist Country, and in 3 1/2 hours we were happily in Prague. We had been warned that you really have to be careful there (not for violent crime, but for a lot of car thefts and break ins). We realized we weren't in Kansas anymore when the first think we saw when we pulled off the highway was a Fierce Protect Dog inside the gate of a business. With Liability issues - you would have never seen that back home! When we pulled up to the hotel, the first thing we were told was to empty our car entirely, especially Gabby (our dear GPS). We ventured out and had a $340 czeck dollar meal (O.K. with the exchange rate that is only about $15). With the snow and all, we discovered that Prague is a beautiful city. The Tower, The Charles Bridge, Prague Castle (which we saw, but didn't go to), The Old Town Square, and the Astronomical Clock were the highlights. Mia kept calling it the "Republik Czech" which we thought was too cute. In the photos you'll see: Camden rubbing the statue of St. John of Nepomuk on the Charles Bridge with his left hand )which is said to bring good luck - which we actually all did), the Snow covered city, The Prague Castle, The Famous Astronomical Clock, the Swans that we tried to get a picture of the two necks making a heart - but didn't work out so well, the Charles Bridge, and other Misc. Pictures. The one of the White Horse in the field we actually saw on the way home in Germany - it was breathtaking in the middle of a field of snow to see this white horse - gorgeous! We really liked Prague and will definitely go back while we are over here.
