Regensburg

Regensburg is a town about 1 and a half hours from Bamburg and like Bamberg, is a UNESCO World Heritage Sight (one of the few in the world). It is a beautiful town with immense history. With three kids in tow, we decided to forego any formal tour and knew that just walking around would be fun. It seems that almost all German towns have a huge farmers market - type area with all kinds of local fruit and vegetables. Being that we have such picky eaters (with the exception of Mia) - it is a life saver because we can always buy fresh fruit, cheese and bread. In fact Mia is getting to be such a little "German" girl that when we ask her what she wants, she declares "fresh Brotchen" which is fresh bread/biscuits. (on a side note she also yells "Nein" now when she gets irritated , which is the German word for no -too cute) The city is located on the Danube River and was even the home of Pope Benedict for a while. The picture of the car going into the river made us laugh (I guess you have to be careful of these things :-)
