We had a really nice Thansgiving week. As we prepared for our Thanksgiving, all around us in Germany they were preparing for Christmas (because obviously they don't celebrate Thanksgiving) . I am thankful to have the base where Bryan works available to us to celebrate our special Holiday - without it, instead of turkey - we may have had schnitzel :-). Bailey had an entire Thanksgiving meal at school (in her classroom) with a full presentation and all - it was so nice because her teacher truly reiterated to the children how thankful we should all be. Camden made friendship soup with his classmates and of course ate not a drop (if you know my son at all - he is first in line for being the world's worst eater - dinner time is the worst time of the day for him :-) He enjoyed Brotchen (Bread) for his Thanksgiving feast. For the big Day, we were invited to some friends of ours to celebrate and we had a really nice time. There were a total of 14 kids running around, and you would think it would have been utter madness, but it was just perfect because everyone had a friend to play with and everyone was happy. The dinner was delicious and the company was great too. Two of the other guests' husbands are deployed and it reminds me of how difficult it must be for all of these families to be seperated during the holidays. These wives are so strong (obviously as well as the husbands) to be so upbeat and keep everything as normal as possible for their children. I am thankful for being reminded this holiday how lucky we all are! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
