On Saturday we went with some friends to Pottenstein, which is an area north of Bamberg, nick named the "Franconian Swiss" because it resembles Switzerland so much. We had originally planned to go to a climbing forest (a huge ropes course in the woods) for a few hours in the morning, and then do another activity in the afternoon, but we all had so much fun that we stayed the entire day (10 -5). They have ropes that you attach carabeaners to, and all kinds of different obstacles to get across each one - many of the obstacles included zip lines. They had different levels, so even Mia could participate fully. It was fun to see the kids so "into" it -they could manouver the course by themselves (hooking and unhooking the safety latches) - even after 7 hours, no one wanted to leave. In order to climb, you had to take a short safety course, but after that, you were on your own - it was neat to see the confidence levels increase as the day went on... A fantastic day!!!!
