This morning we drove to the Portland Airport to send Bryan off to Germany! I think he seretly wished he had my expertise in the German language (JUST KIDDING) to help him out for a few weeks, but instead he will break things in for us over there until WE arrive! We are a little worried about him being over there by himself because he knows not one word of German (he even has trouble with "Gutentag"). From what we are told most Germans speak English, so hopefully he will be O.K. Until we can find a home to rent, we will be living in a German Hotel. Our family is getting quite used to Hotel life and even though you would think it would get old - for me it is pretty nice not having to clean or cook!
Besides the excitement of Bryan flying to Germany today, we also were excited to see the former Governor of Maine - John Mckernan and Maine's U.S. Senator - Olympia Snowe (who is John Mckernan's wife) checking in on Bryan's flight. They were extremely kind to Bailey, Camden and Mia and even gave them autograph's!
While Bryan was up in Maine, our friends came up from Georgia and we had such a great time! The picture above is all of us at the Portland Headlight. It is really hard to leave such incredible friends for 3 years, but knowing we can come right back to our neighborhood is definitely comforting! Everyday life will definitely not be the same without them though! We are truly going to miss them!As soon as I hear from Bryan, I will try to post again. It is an overnight flight so he won't arrive until tomorrow. Germany is also 6 hours ahead of us, so it will take some time to get over the jet lag!
