We have lots of German friends that have visited the
Tuscany Region in Italy, and when we told them we were going to Florence, they
said, "Florence is nice, but Siena is Gorgeousl!!!" It was not in our original plans, but with all of the recommendations, we decided we didn't want to miss it. It definitely lived up to its hype. It is a walled city at the top of a steep hill, with no cars allowed in the streets (only emergency type vehicles were allowed). Siena was a medieval city, that has been preserved remarkably well. Like I mentioned earlier, it reminded us of the Italian equivalent to Bamberg. I would love to go back and spend more time there!
