A trip to Maine would not be complete without a visit to Bailey Island. The island was; where my grandfather grew up, where my grandparents met, where my family lived when I was young, where we vacationed in the past, and last but definitely not least, the place that Bailey was named after. It is not the priority listing in most tourist books, but instead a little gem that is unknown - a quintessential little lobstering town. The coast is rugged, the locals are working fisherman, and the views are breathtaking. With the exception of a few restaurants and a gift shop, there is not too much there, but it is truly a fun place to visit!
