Competitive Mia

Last Saturday, we rode bikes to a Park on the other side of the city. It was a gorgeous day, and we thought it would be nice to have a little picnic and then play baseball (really just practice hitting the ball a little). Usually when we ride bikes all together, we stay in order in a row (picture the Sound of Music Family - that is us - except minus the singing). I usually lead, and Bryan stays in the back, with the kids in the middle. With traffic, lights, sidewalks etc, having 5 bikers is just a lot of people to worry about. With one or two it is much easier. Anyway... we were on the bike path by the river (no traffic at this point to worry about), and Mia decides that she is going to pass her brother and sister - and then proceeds to do so successfully. What made us laugh so hard is that, she is usually very easy going, but the "Rhodes Competitive Nature" came out in full force. It was sooo cute. Then Bailey and Camden decide that they are going to have none of that, so they tried to move ahead. Meanwhile, my heart is racing with worry, about who is going to fall first. Luckily all was fine, but it was just so funny to see Mia breaking the orderly rules that we have, and trying to "win." We laughed and smiled knowing that Mia is a perfect fit!!!!
