One of the prettiest views of the Old City of Jeruselum is from the Mount of Olives. There were lots of people around, and our guide took us away from everyone to a special spot in order to take it all in. Truly breathtaking. There are 150,000 plus Jewish graves all around that side of the old city, strategically placed for God to come redeem. The kids rode a donkey (owned by a nice muslim man, waiting for his Massiah-quite interesting). We then went to the Church of all Nations, which holds a huge rock mount inside where Jesus prayed on the night of his arrest. Right beside the Church is the Garden of Gesthsemane - the beautiful ancient Olive Trees there were stunning. I would have been thrilled with just seeing all of this, but we hadn't even hit the old city yet.... *the photo of the kids holding their hands was taken when our guide was explaining how the temple mount was built up - it was a neat and memorable way for hime to explain it - all of the kids hands were needed.
