Bryan has really lucked out in the coworker department! We all actually have! When Bryan first got here, his coworker was his "sponsor" and showed him all around and got him all settled. (I say this as if it is no big deal, but all of the aspects of getting settled are quite enormous). His wife is German and was extremely kind by preparing gift baskets and toys galore for each of us! When we walked into our hotel after the long flight over, we were welcomed by gifts! It meant so much to us. It has been truly amazing how we have lucked out! His other coworker's wife is actually from Bamberg and is extremely nice and has taken us out a few times, including to help translate for me at a German "Kindergarten" (really a pre-school) that we are looking at for Mia. She took us out the other day again and asked if we wanted to go to Memmelsdorf to see a castle. I figured it was a bout a 20 minute drive and was all for it! About 3 minutes later we were at our destination - an incredible estate with Gardens shaped like a labrynth and a beautiful castle! It is amazing to us how much there is to see just in this vicinity! She later showed us more of the shopping area in Bamberg and the kids eyes lit up when they saw the Toys R Us sign (one of the few "American" stores around). We have really lucked out and are so grateful for such hospitality! P.S. The pictures are from the castle in Memmelsdorf

Lovely estate. Very 17th/18th Century. Palaces as homes rather than fortresses. :-) Sounds like you guys are having a ball. Glad things are working out so well. :-)
