There is always an excuse for something to celebrate here, and in late June, it is "Johannisfeur." The way I understand it is that St. John's (the Baptist) Birthday is celebrated on June 24th, which also happens to coincide with the Summer Solstice. In almost every town, both big and small, you can see Bonfires and fests in celebration of this. We went to one of the surrounding towns this year to celebrate, and it was fun to see. They had German Music, festival food and drinks, and then of course at dusk, the big Bon Fire. Always a reason to celebrate!!!
