The week in review...

I was talking to my neighbor the other day, and she mentioned that we haven't been going away as much as we did last year. It is funny how life takes over, and all of the self imposed obligations tend to fill the calendar. As we have been living over here, it is definitely harder to find weeks (or long weekends) in which the calendar is empty to go away. They are still all great opportunities though, and we cherish this time, knowing that one day we will not have these opportunities at our finger tips.

*Bailey's Gymnastics meet - she has them just about quarterly, and the wonderful thing about it is that she can simply enjoy them (no training for 4 hours a night - 5 days a week). It is certainly not Olympic level, but it is perfect for her (and our family)

*We met some friends at the park the other day, and happened to hit it right when the "Spiel Mobile" (Play Mobile) arrived for fun. University students are hired by the city to work with the Spiel Mobile. They get credit (and a little bit of income), and they come and organize fun games and activities - including the slip and slide and ride on toys - for whoever wants to join in (REALLY a Fun time)

*The kids were invited to an "Olympic" Swimming Birthday Party with competetive events (hence Bailey and Camden "surfing" on the water).

*The Base where Bryan works has a gym that includes raquetball and a complete wood shop that we like to go to.

*Mia's "Turnen" class (a little like gymnastics - a lot like PE) had a summer end party/festival with all kinds of fun activities.

*Camden woke up at the crack of dawn the other day, and decided "today was the day" to do his experiment kit (that I am horribly ashamed has been in the box since Christmas). He LOVED it, and can not wait for more Science experiments!

*While Bryan took Camden on Saturday to another soccer tournament, the girls and I enjoyed a stroll in the city center where they had a huge Magic festival, and they got to dip their own candles.

Totally changing subjects...I wanted to remember this one... Mia declared this morning that she wanted to go meet the people who moved into her Friend, Megan's old House. I thought that was a little odd because we don't live very close, and we have no idea who moved in. She then stated that we must bring them Honey! I thought to myself, "Honey"????? and then remembered that she is TOTALLY addicted to the Bernstein Bear's books, and in one of her favorite books, the Bear's brought honey to their new neighbor - Priceless!!! Honey is a great welcome to the neighborhood gift - IF YOU ARE A BEAR!!!!!
