Schwimbad im Zapfendorf!

In Bavaria, most villages are fairly small, but completely self sufficient (bank, bakery, church, market, brewery, school, soccer club etc.) The houses and buildings are very close together, and then when you get out of the village, there is usually farm land all around, until you get to the next village. Many of the villages offer one or two unique things within them such as; a museum, ropes course, castle, historical sight, playground, fortress, pool etc. Sometimes it is surprising that such a small village can sustain some of these offerings. We took the kids to a well known Swimming facility in a village called Zapfendorf, and had a blast. The best part is that the German kids don't get out of school until the end of July, so for most of the day, we had the place to ourself! For 9 euro total, our entire family swam, jumped, and slid. (I hate to always mention the cost of things, but I mention it because I am a bargain shopper, and prices are so reasonable here - with a family of 5, it would otherwise be cost prohibitive). It is also nice because most places here offer a "family" rate. It was a great time time!
