December 6th is a very special night in Germany. The German children anxiously put a boot outside their door, and St. Nickolaus comes in the night filling it with nuts, fruit, and chocolate! It is a wonderful occasion for the kids! We awoke this morning, thinking it to be an ordinary day, but when we opened the door to go outside, we were amazed at what we saw! Our doorway was filled with treats that must have come from St. Nickolaus! I mean truly - we were astounded to see what was left for us! We had even forgotten to leave the boots outside, but St. Nickolaus remebered us! What a great day! The picture is a photo of all of the surprises that we found when we opened the door!
