Last night we went for our 2nd annual St. Martin's Day walk with Mia's Kindergaten. The man being honored split his coat in two to offer warmth to another man in need. In Germany his act of kindness is celebrated with a lantern walk by young children. It is especially cozy in the center of town with; the church bells ringing, the children marching with their lanterns and singing songs, the cobblestone streets, and old buildings... - it really was like a fictional story. After the walk we celebrated in a garden with pretzels, kinderpunch and gluwein - a truly fun evening. Mia was especially proud this year, having learned the traditional songs and now that she is older, she understands the story - and a great one it is! Below are some video clips...
