We Love this Town!

I truly feel that we are so lucky to have the opportunity to live here. It amazes me each week the experiences that we are able to experience just because we do live here. Today, my neighbor asked us to go check out an activity that she had heard about in Bamberg... Within a few minutes we were on our bikes following she and her two children to a park. To make a long story short, at this park they have a program for kids to build a "city." The location is on a river and the cost is free. The kids can borrow, wood, nails, hammers, saws etc. and can build what is essentially part of a little city while they are on "urlaub" (summer holiday). We planned to be gone for a short time, but ended up spending about 4 hours there creating the beginnings of a longer project. Even little Mia was using a saw and painting. We put down a floor and built a roof, door bell and welcome sign, flag etc. Once again, something that would never be allowed back home due to liabiliy. Children Bailey's age, are able to ride bikes here by themself each day to pass the summer hours - just like good old days. We are able to go back to work on it until vacation ends. We even lucked out with waterfront property :-) No waiver signed, no money, just a collection of a key to make sure the tools are returned - UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
