We are counting down the last days of summer until school starts, but trying to make the most of each day until the new year begins. I LOVE SUMMER, and will be quite depressed once everything starts back up again - the coziness of staying up late, sleeping in, and seeing what the day will bring is to me what summer is all about - I love being able to experience all of the great things that this area has to offer and see it through the eyes of my children. They are usually up for anything and because of that we have been able to discover all kinds of neat things. One of our neighbors invited Camden and Bryan to go with him on his dirtbike - I would usually think this was a little scary (O.K. ALOT SCARY), but Bryan calmed me down a bit. Camden loved it and it was an experience that he now has - which I am all about. One of the Mom's at Bailey's gymnastics told us about a nice swimming pool - we checked that out and enjoyed it thoroughly. They have 3 pools - an olympic size, a normal size with a slide and a toddler pool. Bailey loved the high dive and Camden loved the slide and Mia the toddler pool. It was neat because the pool is built around a big park, so instead of beach chairs cluttered around the pool, people were able to spread out around the park with their chairs and blankets. It made sense because otherwise it would feel quite crowded. We also went with some friends to Pottenstein which is called "Little Swiss" (because the area is so similar to Switzerland, which is only about 4 hours away). We all hiked a bit, Bryan took the kids on a paddle boat (only 4 people could fit), and then we all went on a summer toboggan ride down the mountain. * We saw this bulldog sitting at the entrance to a store - he was so cute because he was standing up and falling asleep - I guess he is represents to me the lazy days of summer :-)
