Mia's Birthday!

This week we celebrated the wonderful occassion of Mia's 4th birthday! It is so hard to believe that she is 4 years old! It seems like yesterday she was that little 11 month old that we held for the first time. She is such a little sparkle of sunshine - always happy (O.K. most of the time), very kind, and just such a fun girl to be around. For her birthday, we asked her what she wanted to do. Her one "friend" request, was of course her pal Megan, and her other request was a bowling party. I thought it to be a little strange, but that is what she wanted - so that is what we did. Her actual birthday was Sunday and we really didn't celebrate that day except to say Happy Birthday and tell her that she was now 4 years old. Most kids would want presents and parties, but honestly Mia was just happy being 4! She never once asked for her presents or anything. She told everyone that she was 4 and was thrilled with that! On Monday, she celebrated her birthday at her Kindergarten and loved that it was finally her turn, after watching many Birthday celebrations this year. On Thursday we had a few families join us for her Bowling Party and finally she had presents to open. Now, with that said - she was all into the present thing - too cute! I wish we could keep her at this age forever - she is old enough to understand everything and participate in life, yet young enough to be so innocent and sweet. We are such a lucky family to have Mia in our lives - she brings us so much happiness! Happy Birthday Sweet Mia!

Mia,
Thank you so much for the phone call yesterday. I'm glad you had a fun party with your bestfriend - it looked like it was the best time ever!!

I also can't believe she is 4 YEARS OLD - where does the time go?? It certainly doesn't seem like 3 years ago when we gathered at 1:00 in the morning to welcome her!!

Happy Birthday Mia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW........ Four years old is such a special age. You know so much more than a three year old and can do things that you never thought you could do. Like bowling, sleepovers, etc...... I hope you enjoy being four for a whole year longer.

I am 70 and that is a special age but not as nearly special as four. I can't do sleepovers anymore and bowling is definitely a no no for me. So you stay four for as long as you can.

I was looking at the beautiful book you were holding. I see that it was about fairies. Fairies are so much fun to read about, and they stay busy replacing teeth with money or some kind of treat. It won't be long before you will lose a tooth. That will be very exciting.

You are the most beautiful four-year old that I know. Always stay beautiful inside because that is important even when you get all grown up. Tell your mom thanks for the pictures and reminding me of your very special day. Love you and everyone in the whole wide world. gp
